To all the runners who
participated in the 8th Annual Moose Jawg, I can’t thank you enough
for your support and all of your comments about our lil’ race. We
have certainly come a long way since 70 runners in the 1st Annual
Moose Jawg!
412 runners participated
this year! This is an astounding increase over last year (2008 – 219
runners). I took the liberty of adding one to this year’s number
because I decided at the last minute to join the group and run the
5km that I had registered for but I had forgotten to put the D-Tag
on my shoe!
Thank you to Casino
Moose Jaw for their generous donation of $6000 to the event. After
all the bills are paid in the next week, I hope I will be able to
give almost that same amount back to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation
for upgrades to their surgical equipment to help in the battle
against colorectal cancer. Another item to note is the addition of
the pledge button on the online entry form which also provided
almost another $1000 to that number just from your generosity in a
few dollars, or $5 or $10 here and there. We cannot thank all of you
enough again for your support of our local hospital foundation.
My volunteers worked
long hours the day of the run and the days before and I must also
thank them for their help during the event and along the course
route. Without them, we all wouldn’t have a clue what we were doing
!

sponsors who are listed on the website and whom I hope to enlist
next year at the 9th Annual Moose Jawg.
Thank you to all again
and for your patience since crossing the finish line as we are late
posting the results. Our chip timer had a family emergency shortly
after the run and was not able to get these to us until the morning
of the 2 July.
